At an early age, Colin learned to french braid on silk ribbons his mother had tied to his sister's bedpost. Never knowing what to do with his own hair, Colin’s father made an appointment for him at the renowned Bumble and bumble salon. At that time, Bumble was renowned for their editorial fashion presence and what was then a burgeoning cutting tool: the straight razor.

Colin was enamored with the effects the razor produced on his own hair and the energy of an urban salon, spurring his desire to work for the brand after starting his career in the beauty industry.

Working at Bumble and bumble for a decade, Colin grew his skills in cutting and styling. Throughout his career, he’d become one of Bumble’s most renowned educators, teaching his love for razor cutting at Bb university in NYC to stylists from across the country.

Colin has styled celebrities including Taylor Swift and Cindy Crawford, as well as worked on editorials for Vogue and W magazines, Estée Lauder and Armani. Colin styled hair backstage at New York Fashion Week and international shows as diverse as Marc Jacobs and Ric Owens –– all while earning his Bachelors Degree in Art and Architectural History, sprouting a few grey hairs along the way.
